Why Dieting May Not Be The Answer

Obesity is a real life problem that is spreading fast throughout the Western world but most particularly in the USA. It has given rise to literally 100s of diets and a huge money making industry that has grown up around peoples desperate need to shed those pounds. However there is far more to losing weight than a mere diet. Diets are good for emergency weight loss but they are in effect just a quick fix. Many people go thorough with a weight loss diet and do indeed lose weight and are ecstatic. Then when they return to a normal diet they see those pounds returning and pretty soon they are the same, or worse still, heavier than they were in the beginning. Depressed they give up and resign themselves to being fat. You can avoid this happening to you with a few simple steps: Avoid fad diets ones in fashion and lose weight quick diets Do not just rely on diet alone combine with other weight loss techniques Exercise Mindset Diets in fashion are just that. They are not usually long lasting and if you lose weight it is often only temporary. When you lose...

Cancer Lies Impoverish You Before You Die Part 2

Cancer Lies Lie 1: Conventional medicine can cure your cancer. Lie 2: It is criminal the way alternative medicine holds out false hope and diverts patients away from reliable medical treatment. Lie 3: We put the patient s interests first. You ll notice that lie 2 refers back to lie 1. Conventional medicine has three weapons against cancer. Surgery Chemotherapy Radiation therapy Surgery is successful if the cancer is removed before it has spread. So it could be described as a cure for cancer. Radiation therapy is based on the theory that your body is better at fighting the damage done by radiation therapy than the cancer is. So if you almost kill the body there is hope that you will completely kill the cancer. Chemotherapy is based on the hope that healthy tissue will be better at fighting the poisons administered. All chemotherapy drugs use the patient as a guinea pig, because the drug companies argue that it would be cruel to do placebo controlled tests on patients who thought that they were getting medicine and were getting a sugar pill. My theory...

What To Do If Someone You Know Is Diagnosed With Bird Flu

Bird flu is a scary and devastating disease. It has been decades since an influenza virus has had such misfortunate potential. With the virus sweeping through most of Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, it is just a matter of time before it reaches every corner of the world. If the virus mutates, an even more deadly issue will be at hand. With such negative predictions, it is almost impossible not to imagine yourself or a love one at the hands of the disease. What would you do if this virus hit home. The important thing to understand is the infection of bird flu is not necessarily a death sentence. Although a large number of deaths have occurred, almost half of those infected survived the disease. Therefore, with advanced medicine and proper care, a person may be able to live after bird flu. What you do if someone you know is diagnosed will greatly depend on how well you know the person. Is it a friend. Acquaintance. Family member. Obviously, if it is a close friend or family member, you will want to be as supportive as possible. This will be a...

Living With Obsessive Compulsive Disorder And Your Fearful Thoughts

Living with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and having to deal with your fearful thoughts can be extremely difficult. It can be tough for people with OCD to have to experience obsessive thoughts that are intrusive, scary, and difficult to manage. As a result, here is a short list of techniques that a person can use to help manage their OCD and their obsessive thoughts The first thing a person must do is not to dwell or focus on the fear provoking thought when it comes. The more a person tries to reason out the thought or focus on the fear behind the thought, the stronger the thought becomes. The next time you encounter an obsessive thought, get into the practice of not dwelling on it. From my interviews with various psychologists, I was told that a person should visualize a red stop sign in their mind when they encounter a fear provoking thought. When the negative thought comes, a person should think of a red stop sign which serves as a reminder to stop focusing on that thought and to think of something else. A person can then try to think of something...
